The $1 coin has over the years had Lady Liberty, Susan B. Anthony, and Sacagawea on its face. It’s a shame they aren’t widely circulated.
Get Sacagawea back into the game, Obama.
What I like about Origin is that even though my Sims games are attached to it, it still lets me launch TS3 without even touching its pre-Origin launcher. Real time saver.
I wonder if you can do the same to Steam games.
This one is where I draw the line. Today is the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
This is disgusting on Tumblr’s part, especially this joke.
“Allied casualties on the first day were at least 12,000, with 4,414 confirmed dead.”
Yes,remember their sacrifice. The thousands of soldiers who fought in the Normandy landings and lost their lives. Remember that, not some ridiculous holiday about donuts.
IS THIS SERIOUSLY WHAT THE DONUT THING IS
IM FUCKING LIVID
Wasnt this donut thing started on the 5th of June? With dday being the 6th on June?
Because literally no one can use the Google, I am here to inform you that National Donut Day was created in 1938, predating D-Day, and was started by the Salvation Army whereas volunteers would go around army bases and hospitals in the field and at home to hand out free donuts to soldiers and veterans. Red Cross girls who handed out donuts to WWII soldiers were called “Doughnut Dollies.” Male Salvation Army workers who handed out donuts were called “Doughnut Dicks.”
It was started when an army doctor stopped at a donut shop on his way to base to buy donuts for his patients who were all soldiers from the front lines.
National Donut Day has been used as a fundraiser by the USMC, the Salvation Army (which is problematic as an organization, I am aware), and the Red Cross. It is directly connected to WWII history.
It is celebrated the first Friday of June.
It checks out.
It might not be an explicit D-Day memorial, but it still respects veterans and soldiers in a very Tumblr way.
Everyone, please research before you rage.
