Okay, let me point out one of the many things wrong with what Mr. Jeffries said. He’s basically saying that if you’re fat, you’re uncool and ugly.

I bet you know why Mr. Jeffries is wrong.

Oh, he can be exclusionary, but that doesn’t exclude him from judgment and having people boycotting him into a smaller niche.

It’s wrong to go storm his house with pitchforks and torches, since violence is disproportionate, so protest with your money and word-of-mouth. That’s the right way to fight discrimination in society.

Oh, and chime in if you happen to be overweight and yet you’re on top of the social pyramid and have lots of friends, so to prove Mr. Jeffries wrong that being fat means that you’re uncool.

Singer/songwriter Maria Diamandis will rely on instinct as she creates her third album:

Marina Diamandis is a work in progress that might never be finished. A case in point is her reluctance to discuss her third album. Although she has announced that she is working on her sequel to Electra Heart, it will go in whatever direction she decides to take, and she remains open to detours. A lot of it is instinct.

So good news: She’s working on her third album, and three more videos for the Electra Heart era are planned.

Bad news: She (apparently) bankrupted her label.

Hopefully, album #3 will come with some more money so Marina can keep making her art.

Reblogging this post won’t change the fact that 17 teens commit suicide every day.

Not reblogging doesn’t mean you’re heartless, it just means you know this post is meaningless and don’t want to bother with it.

Guilt trip posts are the worst posts on Tumblr.

It degenerates into an endless circlejerk of “I CARE!!!” and becomes more of a trend than anything else (this post has over 600,000 notes)

Posts like these are everywhere (reblog if you hate cancer, reblog if you aren’t homophobic, blah blah blah). They’re so stupid and pointless. Of course anyone who isn’t a sociopath cares!

I’m not trying to guilt the people who do reblog these, but for the love of all things good and holy, don’t try to shame people into reblogging a silly little post that won’t actually change anything (“REBLOG IF U HAVE A HEART,” “IF YOU DON’T REBLOG THIS THAN UNFOLLOW ME RIGHT NOW,” “ONLY A MONSTER WOULDN’T REBLOG THIS”).

Please stop with the “if you don’t X, you are horrible”.

Plus, it’s hypocritical to make a post decrying bullying and then guilting your readers into reblogging a post.

It’s nice to spread the message, but not everyone has to do it. If we all reblog posts like this all the time, we’ll crowd our Tumblr blogs, dilute the message, and waste our times.

So let your readers decide what to reblog and what not to reblog. If we do that, we’ll raise the self-esteem of the general Tumblr population, but taking a huge cause of guilt out of the equation.
